The Job Overview

Our IT support specialists provide our organization with information technology support to optimize operational efficiency. Their duties include resolving technical issues, maintaining hardware and software installations, and improving IT systems. They may also be required to provide IT support to our clients.


Below are some of the responsibilities an IT support specialists is expected to assume: 

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
  • Setting up accounts for new users
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Testing new technology
  • Possibly training junior staff

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

Below are the qualifications and skills that are expected of an IT support specialists:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering but not required
  • A technical, logical thought process
  • Ability to stick to strict deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Ability to multitask 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent organization skills
